I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science at IIIT Hyderabad. I work under the joint supervision of Prof. C. V. Jawahar at CVIT, IIIT Hyderabad, and Prof. M. Pawan Kumar at OVAL, University of Oxford and Deepmind. My general areas of interest are Computer Vision and Machine Learning. My research focuses on weakly supervised learning approach for visual tasks. See my publications in this area. I am funded by Visvesvaraya PhD Fellowship.

Beyond my research work, the topics that intrigue me include probabilistic machine learning, uncertainty quantification, learning from limited data, and discrete & combinatorial optimization.

I received my B.E. in Computer Science from BIT Mesra in 2013, where I was advised by Prof. Soumya Banerjee. From 2013-2014, I worked at IBM India as Associate System Engineer. I was also the co-founder and CTO at Drishyam.ai from 2018-2020 and an Senior Research Analyst and Advisor at Cognizer.ai from 2021-2022.

In my free time, I like to read books, play sports (cricket, table tennis, and running are my favorites), go on hikes, write short stories, and play guitar. Also, I was born and raised in Patna, one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world!
